Agronomy Positions - Part Time


We are currently seeking qualified candidates with knowledge of the agricultural industry as CDL Drivers and General Laborers.  These positions are part-time seasonal positions.  Essential duties include filling orders, delivering product to the field and assisting with fall operations at our Rushville, Indiana facility. 

Qualified candidates should have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one to three years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and training.

Candidates will also need a valid CDL driver's license, good driving record, clear criminal background check and the ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen.

Agronomy - Applicator I


We are currently seeking a detail oriented person as a applicator for our Durbin Ag Center - North Crops area.  This is a full time position.  Essential duties and responsibilities include the following: 

  • Projects a positive attitude to customers and employees at all times.
  • Provides outstanding and courteous customer service.
  • Implements, promotes, and supports the Yield Pro agronomy program.
  • Precisely blends and custom applies fertilizers and agricultural chemicals based on recommendations and label directions.
  • Performs his jobs safely and in compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Maintains facility and equipment so that they have a good appearance and are always in working order.
  • Performs mechanic work on selected vehicles.
  • Completes applicator logs and reports.
  • Keeps the Ag Center Manager informed of product inventory levels that could restrict application or delivery schedules.
  • Keeps the Ag Center Manager informed of operational, customer, vendors, or employee issues that may arise.
  • Keeps facility, equipment, and application records as required.
  • Loads and unloads inbound and outbound inventory.
  • Assists in keeping all inside and outside work areas extremely neat and orderly.
  • Performs additional tasks that may be required.

Qualified candidates should possess a high school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to three years related experience.

Candidates will also need a valid CDL driver's license with required endorsements, a good driving record, a clear criminal background check, an applicator’s license that meets the minimum compliance requirements of the regulatory state in which the applicator operates; and 1-A.

 Energy Division - Liquid Fuels/LP Manager


We are currently seeking a detail oriented person to manage our liquid fuels and propane department in Monroe, Indiana - Adams County.  Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:

  • Oversees and supervises plant personnel on day to day operations and training so that tasks are performed properly and safely
  • Responsible for conducting performance appraisals and provides developmental or corrective coaching necessary for direct reports
  • Controls inventories for proper seasonal levels
  • Prepares facility budgets and product purchasing forecasts
  • Helps develops sales programs and pricing policies
  • Oversees compliance at the Petroleum Department location regarding governmental regulations and safety
  • Carries out Harvest Land's compliance with "Duty to Warn" obligations with existing and new customers
  • Projects a positive attitude to customers and employees at all times
  • Provides outstanding and courteous customer service.  Supports and communicates the Harvest Land Credit Policy to customers

Qualified candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from a four year college or university; or 10 years or more related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Candidates will also need a valid CDL driver's license with Hazardous Material Endorsement, a good driving record, a clear criminal background check and the ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen.

   Transportation Department - Transport Drivers


 We are currently seeking two detail oriented people to deliver grain and fertilizer from Harvest Land's locations to processors and other Harvest Land locations.  Essential duties and responsibilities include the following: 

  • Be courteous and possess good people skills
  • Maintain the truck in good working order which would include but not limited to keeping the truck clean and presentable, reporting all discrepancies of the truck, repair the ones that you can and maintain records for all work repairs
  • Drive in a safe manner
  • Maintain a CDL (commercial drivers license) with all necessary endorsements
  • Continuously follow the safety guidelines and safety programs established by Harvest Land Co-op 

Qualified candidates should have a high school diploma or general educaion degree (GED); possess a valid commercial drivers license with necessary endorsements, a clear criminal background check and driving record and the ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen.

 2015 Field Techs Needed  


We are currently seeking candidates for our 2015 Field Technician Internship. We only have 16 positions still available throughout our sales territory. Our 2015 Summer Field Tech Interns will began their experience by learning about corn, soybean, wheat, and alfalfa growth stages, weeds, diseases, and insects. Over the next several weeks they will continue to expand their education. They will also gain insight into a fulltime career, develop a professional network, and build confidence and professional character, all while making observations and decisions that are incredibly practical, important and meaningful to our producers.  

Benefits of our internship include an incredible agronomy education and gaining valuable experience and connections in the agriculture industry. Many of our former interns have said they learn more in the 12 weeks as a Harvest Land intern than they did in four years of related college work.

Qualified candidates should have an interest in agronomy and agriculture, but need not be an agronomy major. Former interns have had majors ranging from art education and accounting to Biology and Rocket Science, however they have all had the interest in agriculture and the ability to learn.
